Job summary

Divcon Controls, based in Dallas, seeks a hands-on Control Technician to support DDC/BAS and PLC project work. You will perform installation verification, point-to-point checkout, startup support, and field documentation under the guidance of senior technicians.

Qualifications

• Hands-on controls technician with field experience in DDC/PLC projects.
• Willingness to travel regularly; per diem and lodging provided.
• Ability to verify installations against drawings and project docs.

Responsibilities

• Start up, commission, and re-commission customer systems that utilize DDC or PLC technology.
• Provides solutions to mid-level systems problems by troubleshooting and coordinating with subcontractors and other trades.
• Verify field installation against drawings, schedules, point lists, network architecture, and project documentation; flag discrepancies to Supervisor or Senior Technician.
• Be able to provide turnkey project delivery on specific site systems.
• Understand basic unitary systems (VAV/FPB/FCU) and small AHUs/CRAHs.
• Perform verification checks in line with L2–L4 requirements and support L5 commissioning for data center execution.
• Understand common communication protocols.

About the role:

The Control Technician is the hands-on foundation of the controls field team and will support DDC/BAS or PLC project work based on business need, project assignment, and developing skillset. This role executes installation verification, database uploads, point-to-point checkout, startup support, field documentation, and issue escalation under the direction of Senior and Lead Technicians.

This position requires regular travel. Per diem, lodging, and travel accommodation are provided in accordance with company policy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Start up, commission, re-commission customer systems that utilize DDC or PLC technology
• Provides solutions to mid-level systems problems either troubleshooting the system or assists others on how to resolve problems. Works with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.
• Verify field installation against drawings, schedules, point lists, network architecture, addressing tables, and project documentation; flag discrepancies to Supervisor or the Senior or Lead Technician.
