Job summary

Summit Midstream is seeking a Pipeline Operator in the United States (Colorado). The role involves operating, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing pipelines, compression and related facilities, with on-call responsibilities and a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.

You will work with landowners, emergency responders, and contractors, manage pigging programs, and ensure documentation and permits are up to date. A high school diploma and 2–5+ years’ pipeline experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–5+ years of general pipeline experience in gas industry or related field.
• Valid driver license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to read drawings, schematics and alignment sheets.
• Knowledge of pigging programs and line location equipment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain pigging operations, launcher/receiver maintenance and inventory.
• Inspect, maintain and repair pipelines, compression and measurement facilities.
• On-call responsibility for assigned areas.
• Ensure regulatory compliance (OSHA, DOT, etc.) and document activities.
• Plan, organize and prioritize duties; delegate when needed.
• Coordinate with landowners, emergency services, contractors, and other pipelines.
• Operate and assist maintenance at compressor facilities.
• Conduct pipeline patrols and coordinate crews across locations.
• Use hand tools to replace valves; know riser locations and underground valves.
• Perform lock-out/tag-out and write Safe Work Permits; handle emergency shutdowns.
• Maintain safety and regulatory compliance across operations.
• Create work orders in Maximo and utilize CYGNET for tasks.
• Maintain required forms, records and reports; respond to emergencies.
