Job summary

Acuren is recruiting for a full-time PLI Technician at the Duluth, MN location. The role involves extensive field work across the US, data analysis, and reporting to support pipeline integrity programs.

10% time in office with required QA documentation and safety procedures. Candidates must have Magnetic Particle Testing Level 2 and Ultrasonic Thickness Level 2 certifications, with preferred pipeline integrity experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• QA documentation proof of classroom and experience hours.
• Some college preferred.
• Technical background desired.
• Experience in pipeline integrity or maintenance positions.
• Extensive knowledge of quality and safety requirements.
• Current Magnetic Particle Testing Level 2 and Ultrasonic Thickness Level 2.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field and office tasks related to pipeline integrity inspections, analysis, review and reporting of data.
• Adhere to required procedures and customer specifications, including reports.
• Perform direct assessment of pipe condition, coatings, soils, and cathodic protection.
• Assess piping for cracks, corrosion, deformation, and manufacturing anomalies.
• Correlate as-found features to Inline Inspection logs.
• Conduct fit-for-service evaluations per ASME B31.3 and NACE standards.
• Perform hazard assessments and follow safe work procedures.
• Calibrate and set up NDE equipment; provide services to clients in a timely manner.
• Follow regulations and maintain assets and equipment securely.
• Write and assist with pipeline integrity reports; support other technicians.
• Maintain databases and reporting metrics; participate in meetings.
