Job summary

Acuren is seeking full-time PLI Technicians for the Duluth area with relocation assistance and sign-on bonus for qualified candidates. The role concentrates on pipeline integrity field assessments, data analysis, and reporting to support client integrity programs.

Ideal candidates will perform in-field examinations, calibrate NDE equipment, and contribute to hazard assessments and compliance. Travel across the US is required, with 10% time at the home division location.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Some college preferred
• Technical background desirable
• Experience working with pipeline integrity or maintenance positions
• Extensive knowledge of quality and safety requirements
• Current and valid Magnetic Particle Testing Level 2 and Ultrasonic Thickness Level 2

Responsibilities

• Adherence to procedures and specifications, including reports
• Direct assessment of pipe condition including coating, soils, and cathodic protection
• Examine pipe for cracks, corrosion, deformation, and manufacturing anomalies
• Correlate as-found pipe features to Inline Inspection logs
• Conduct fit-for-service evaluations per ASME B31.3 and RSTRENG
• Perform hazard assessments before starting work and follow safety procedures
• Calibrate and set up NDE equipment
• Provide clients with quality services in a timely manner
• Follow regulations and codes
• Manage assets and ensure proper custody of equipment and materials
• Understand Pipeline Integrity processes and procedures
• Compose and write pipeline integrity reports and support others
• Maintain metrics on reporting, costs, productivity
• Update pipeline integrity databases and FTP sites
• Attend operational meetings with customer/project engineers/managers
• Assist with dig package and cost estimating
• Train and guide PLI Assistants and Junior Technicians
