Job summary

Acuren is seeking a full-time PLI Technician for our Duluth, MN location. The role focuses on pipeline integrity field activities, data analysis, reporting, and support for customers’ integrity programs. Expect ~90% fieldwork across the US and 10% at the home division, with independent work in remote areas.

Responsibilities include NDE-related testing, hazard assessment, and writing inspection reports. Local candidates are preferred or relocation is offered with a sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Some college preferred.
• Technical background desired.
• Experience in pipeline integrity or maintenance positions.
• Extensive knowledge of quality and safety requirements.
• Must have MT Level 2 and UT Thickness Level 2 certifications.
• Endorsements: Creaform Handyscan, Automated Corrosion Scan Mapping, UT Phased Array/TOFD, In-situ Verification.
• Local Duluth, MN candidates preferred or willing to relocate; relocation assistance offered.

Responsibilities

• Adherence to procedures and specifications, including reports.
• Perform direct assessment of pipe condition and coatings.
• Assess pipe for cracks, corrosion, deformation, and manufacturing anomalies.
• Correlate as-found features to ILI log and perform fit-for-service evaluations.
• Conduct hazard assessments and follow safe work procedures.
• Calibrate and set up NDE equipment.
• Provide clients with quality services in a timely manner.
• Compose pipeline integrity inspection reports and support others' reporting.
• Maintain integrity databases and assist with cost estimating.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Some college preferred

Technical background desired

Experience with pipeline integrity or maintenance
