Job summary

Acuren is seeking full-time PLI Technicians for the Duluth, MN area. The role involves field assessments, ILI correlation, and ASME-compliant evaluations with high travel requirements across the US.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, relevant NDE certifications (MP Level 2, UT Thickness Level 2), and prefer NACE CIP I. Relocation assistance and sign-on bonus are available for qualified applicants.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Some college or technical training preferred.
• Technical background is desirable for field operations.
• Experience in pipeline integrity or maintenance positions is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of quality and safety requirements is essential.
• Must hold Magnetic Particle Testing Level 2 and Ultrasonic Thickness Level 2.
• NACE CIP Level I/CP Level I is preferred.
• Local candidates in Duluth, MN or willingness to relocate with relocation assistance.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to procedures, specifications and report writing.
• Direct assessment of pipe condition and coatings, soils and CP.
• Inspect pipes for cracks, corrosion, and manufactoring defects.
• Correlate field findings with ILI logs.
• Perform fit-for-service evaluations per ASME B31.3 and RSTRENG.
• Conduct hazard assessments and follow safe work practices.
• Calibrate and set up NDE equipment.
• Prepare pipeline integrity reports and assist others.
• Maintain pipeline integrity databases and reporting metrics.
• Attend client/engineer meetings and assist with cost estimation.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Some college preferred

Technical background

Experience in pipeline integrity/maintenance

Quality and safety knowledge

NDE Level 2 (Magnetic Particle)

NDE Level 2 (Ultrasonic Thickness)

NACE CIP I/CP I preferred

Tools

Creaform 3D Laser Scanning (Handyscan)

Automated Corrosion Scan Mapping

Ultrasonic Phased Array or TOFD

In-situ Material Verification (Frontics/MMT HSD)
