Job summary

St Mary’s County Government seeks an experienced paramedic to provide advanced life support and basic life support on scene. You will respond to calls under the EMS Chief, ensuring high quality patient care while maintaining safety and compliance, including driving ambulances and coordinating with hospitals.

Qualified applicants will have MD paramedic licensure, NR/paramedic credentials, and 2+ years of field experience in public safety EMS.

Qualifications

• Licensed Maryland Paramedic with current NR/paramedic certifications.
• Two years or more documented paramedic experience in public safety.
• Knowledge of BLS, ALS, trauma, and national/state EMS guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Treat ill or injured patients at scenes and provide BLS/ALS care.
• Transport patients to appropriate facilities with safe driving.
• Maintain patient care records accurately and timely.
• Inspect equipment and ensure readiness of EMS apparatus.
• Coordinate with external agencies and hospital staff as needed.
