+p+Matheson is seeking a sales professional to sell welding products to business and industrial customers in California.

The role calls for hands-on customer engagement across office, showroom, and on-site settings, with emphasis on growing accounts and delivering solutions.+/p++p+You will travel within the assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers, quote prices, prepare contracts, and coordinate deliveries.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, clients, vendors, managers or employees of organization.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Responsibilities

• Prospect and qualify customers from multiple sources.
• Travel territory to call on customers and solicit orders.
• Display or demonstrate products using samples or catalog, emphasizing salable features.
• Quote prices and credit terms and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained.
• Estimate date of delivery to customer based on production and delivery schedules.
• Prepare reports of business transactions and keep expense accounts.
• Coordinate customer training and maintain relationships with purchasing contacts.
• Enter new customer data and other sales data into the database.
