Job summary

Rust Automation & Controls is seeking an Outside Sales Engineer to support and grow the Sacramento territory, covering Sacramento, Folsum, and Chico. The role emphasizes sales of product specialties while collaborating with Inside Sales Engineering and end users.

Key objectives include achieving sales goals, building strong customer relationships, and executing territory/account planning to drive revenue and gross margin. Comfort with travel and networking is essential.

Qualifications

Requires technical degree or 2–3 years industrial sales experience.
Willingness to travel within territory, including overnight travel.

Responsibilities

Learn products and solutions offered by Rust Automation & Controls.
Prospect and promote products within assigned accounts.
Grow territory sales and gross margin through regular in-person visits and proactive communication.
Re-engage dormant customers through targeted outreach and personal interaction.
Collaborate with manufacturing partners via calls, emails, webinars, and on-site visits.
Partner with Inside Sales to provide timely customer information.
Maintain CRM database with accounts, contacts, opportunities, and projects.
Clearly articulate customer solutions and collaborate with internal teams.
