Job summary

Rust Automation & Controls seeks Outside Sales Engineers to join a new cohort. You’ll split the first twelve weeks between Salt Lake City and your home territory, learning products and setting appointments.

You’re hired full-time from day one and build relationships with customers in industrial settings. You’ll be the trusted link for plant engineers choosing flow meters and valves, representing suppliers with decades of partnership and delivering tailored solutions while growing territory

Qualifications

• Willingness to travel frequently within the territory, including occasional overnight travel.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-first mindset.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities in a field-sales role.

Responsibilities

• Learn and maintain working knowledge of all products and solutions offered by Rust Automation & Controls
• Prospect and promote products, services, and solutions within assigned accounts
• Grow territory sales and gross margin by increasing penetration in existing accounts and establishing relationships with new customers
• Analyze specifications, requirements, and documents to prepare quotations with Inside Sales
• Conduct joint sales calls with management and manufacturing partners to strengthen relationships
• Perform site walkdowns to assess needs and recommend tailored solutions
• Maintain a robust CRM database with accounts, contacts, opportunities, and projects
• Clearly articulate customer solutions and collaborate with internal teams for effective execution
