Job summary

Aqua America, a unit of Essential Utilities, is seeking a Field Supervisor to oversee staff operating and maintaining water and wastewater systems in the Central Western Division. You will manage the operations budget and coordinate capital projects to ensure safety and compliance.

Travel up to 50% and collaboration with area engineers and local agencies are required. A strong supervisory background and NC licensing progress within 24 months are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires 3–5 years in construction and budget administration.
• 3–5 years in a supervisory role preferred.
• Experience in water or wastewater utility systems preferred.
• Must obtain NC water Class, B-Well and Wastewater Class II within 24 months.
• Valid U.S. driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Supervises team including utility workers, facility operators, and contractors.
• Manages operations and regulatory compliance for Central Western Division remote sites.
• Oversees scheduling and tracking of activities across departments and shares resources.
• Manages distribution system and service dept for in-house/contracted work and repairs.
• Administers operations budget and supports capital budget planning with engineering.
• Maintains databases for compliance reporting and water loss tracking.
• Represents the company in meetings with utilities, municipalities, and regulatory agencies.
• Keeps aware of regulatory changes and their impact; makes recommendations.
