Job summary

IQ Fiber is seeking a Supervisor for Technical Operations to lead a field-based team responsible for fiber drops, installations, and service calls, ensuring quality and timeliness. This hands-on role emphasizes coaching, scheduling, escalation management, and safety compliance in a high-energy environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in management or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience supervising a technical operations team supporting fiber installation and service.
• Proven leadership, performance management, and process improvement track record.
• Strong technical aptitude to explain complex concepts clearly.
• Experience with ticketing, CRM, provisioning, ordering, scheduling, or troubleshooting software.
• Understanding of OSHA rules and regulations.
• Strong Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to create training docs and SOPs.
• Ability to analyze problems, adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day operations of the Technical Operations team, ensuring fiber drops and installations meet quality standards.
• Monitor technician availability, adjust schedules, and balance workload to meet install intervals and service goals.
• Serve as escalation point for critical issues, owning incidents end-to-end.
• Set objectives, evaluate progress, and provide performance feedback.
• Train and coach technicians to strengthen technical and soft skills.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, and retention of the team, promoting a high-performance culture.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and SOPs, and monitor compliance with quality programs.
• Develop daily, weekly, and monthly productivity and performance reports.
• Oversee operation and maintenance of vehicles, equipment, and tools.
• Communicate plant issues and customer/perception metrics to leadership to drive improvements.
• Perform field work including drops/installations and provide coverage outside regular hours.
