Job summary

epb, Inc. is seeking a Field Services Logistics Operator to plan and assign all field work for EPB operations, including planned and emergency tasks. You will adjust real-time assignments to maintain efficiency and meet changing priorities.

The role requires coordinating with linemen, troubleshooters, electricians, installers, technicians, and tree trimmers, across electric and communications systems. Overtime and 24/7 shifts are expected during storms and system events.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree preferred in industrial technology or logistics.
• Proficiency in all EPB business system applications used to plan, assign, execute, and monitor work – e.g., PragmaCAD, EnQuesta, Omnia, OMS, G Tech, GT Viewer, RESCO SPAN.
• Knowledge of basic office systems such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge and experience with electric and communication system operations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Efficient scheduling of all field resources to meet deadlines and maximize operational efficiency. This includes scheduling work for linemen, troubleshooters, electricians, installers, technicians, and tree trimmers.
• Schedule work for both the electric system and the communication system; assign immediate dispatch for trouble, emergency maintenance, and rush orders.
• Maintain and execute maintenance programs including vegetation planning, substation maintenance, underground/downtown maintenance, line inspection, and substation inspection.
• Determine when to call in additional resources or let employees go home during emergency response times and coordinate with supervisory teams.
• Contact customers to schedule or coordinate work as needed.
• Monitor progress on assignments and address issues with field employees or supervisory teams.
• Proactively work with operations staff on reporting personnel performance concerns.
• Help resolve customer issues and negotiate with customers as needed.
• Plan staffing and resources in advance to meet work order commitments and coordinate with supervisory teams when extra resources are needed.
• Work with multiple skill sets and provide support via phone, tickets, emails, and storm coverage.
• Communicate field requirements to customers and other departments for planned or emergency work.
• Suggest ideas to improve or create new processes and discuss them with management.
• Be available to work 24/7/365 with shift work including evenings, overnights, weekends; overtime may be required.

Education

Associate’s degree with a background in industrial technology or logistics is preferred.
