Job summary

Doña Ana County is seeking a field maintenance worker to perform inspections and routine maintenance on flood control structures, operate light to medium equipment, and assist with flood warning system installations. Responsibilities include vegetation management, debris removal, sediment restoration, and site documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of full-time construction maintenance experience.
• Must obtain CDL Class A within 12 months of hire.
• Must obtain NM Agriculture Certifications within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspection and maintenance on flood control dams and structures.
• Review and complete dam inspection forms.
• Mow vegetation inside pooling areas using light equipment.
• Remove trash and invasive species and haul waste.
• Restore structure design capacity by removing or relocating sediment.
• Remove debris and sediment from ponds, channels and swales.
• Operate light to medium equipment for maintenance.
• Transport equipment and materials to project sites.
• Assist with installation and site maintenance for flood warning system infrastructure.
• Attend on-site training on department policies and procedures.
• Read and interpret construction plans, staking, and markings.
• Support operation of the robotic conduit camera and document findings.
