Job summary

WM is seeking a manager responsible for onboarding, developing, coaching, mentoring, and performance management of drivers and helpers. The role spends most of the day in the field with frontline employees, establishing and maintaining positive relationships and ensuring safety is paramount.

Responsibilities include conducting root-cause investigations for injuries, maintaining regulatory records, reviewing daily route documentation, and visiting customer sites to resolve safety issues.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree (accredited) or in lieu of a degree.
• High School Diploma (accredited) and two (2) years of relevant work experience.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located.
• Driver's License Valid Driver's License Upon Hire

Responsibilities

• Onboard frontline employees and provide tools, instruction, and feedback for successful daily duties.
• Meet with new frontline employees daily to support onboarding and consistent communication.
• Provide timely and consistent touchpoints with frontline employees.
• Regularly review best practices to enhance daily performance.
• Focus on understanding and progress of frontline employee career goals.
• Identify improvement opportunities and collaborate with frontline employees for continued success.
• Practice and seek feedback on coaching conversations and lead by example on safety.
• Teach and develop an understanding of the WM Way.
• Conduct root cause investigations for injuries/incidents and ensure proper discipline and retraining.
• Document and maintain records required by regulatory agencies such as the Department of Transportation.
• Review route operation documentation daily (DVIRs, driver time/attendance) and follow up as needed.
• Visit customers/sites to evaluate and resolve safety issues and seek service alternatives.
