Job summary

Orenda, Inc. is hiring a Site Operations Manager in Brooklyn, NY to own the physical fleet and lead on-site maintenance for a growing Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) portfolio across NYC.

You will build the field team, ensure safety, compliance, and operational readiness from COD onward, and collaborate with vendors, OEMs, ConEd, and FDNY. The role requires a strong electrical background, 7+ years in power/energy ops, and hands-on O&M of substations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field or equivalent through licensure.
• 7+ years in power/energy operations, including 3+ years leading field teams.
• Hands on O&M of substations or power generation plants; electrical depth required.
• CMMS driven maintenance management, including PMs and failure codes.
• OSHA 30 (or OSHA 10 with upgrade); clean safety record; valid driver's license.
• NFPA 70E and NFPA 70B knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Run on-site operations: act as Owner's Representative and QA authority for PM and maintenance across all sites.
• Lead 24/7/365 on-call rotation for critical faults and response.
• Perform on-site diagnostics and repairs; manage subcontractors with SOM quality authority.
• Witness critical PM steps and spot-check workmanship for safety and quality.
• Approve third-party maintenance invoices before payment.
• Own the FDNY program: Certificates of Fitness, emergency plans, inspections.
• Coordinate OEM warranty and LTSA field execution with Commercial Asset Manager.
• Support commissioning and operational readiness of new sites and handover.
