Job summary

America West Medical Transportation, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Operations Manager to lead daily field transportation operations in San Diego, ensuring safe, on-time and patient-centered service.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will supervise driver performance, monitor fleet dispatch, and support regulatory compliance while maintaining a compassionate service environment. This role requires hands-on leadership, strong logistics capabilities, and a minimum of one year of experience

Qualifications

• One year of experience working with the elderly
• Valid state driver’s license or CDL
• Experience in senior care or related human services
• Knowledge of city streets and traffic patterns
• Experience in vehicle scheduling/dispatching is a plus
• Past supervisory/management experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Support Operations Manager in driver performance evaluations
• Coach drivers and manage field protocols
• Promote safety and patient-centered service
• Review daily route schedules for efficiency
• Monitor dispatch status and schedule adherence
• Represent transportation in IDT meetings and build relationships with participants and providers
• Investigate grievances and perform service recovery when needed
• Maintain fleet records, logs, and maintenance schedules
• Support safety training and retraining programs
• Oversee data entry in FileMaker system
