Job summary

America West Medical Transportation, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Operations Manager to lead daily transportation operations for safe, punctual, high‑quality transport of participants. You will report to the Operations Manager and oversee drivers, fleet dispatch, and regulatory compliance while fostering compassionate service.

A minimum of one year working with elderly individuals is required. This role is based in Alameda with occasional overnight travel.

Qualifications

Valid state driver’s license or commercial driver’s license.
Able to speak conversational English & Spanish (preferred).
One year of experience working with the elderly (required).
Experience in senior care or a related human services industry.
Extensive knowledge of city streets, neighborhoods, and traffic patterns.
Experience in vehicle scheduling and dispatching is a plus.
Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Support the Operations Manager in conducting driver performance evaluations.
Provide continuous coaching, oversee driver field protocols, and assist in managing personnel issues.
Promote high standards of safety, professional conduct, and patient-centered service.
Review daily route schedules for maximum efficiency and coverage.
Monitor real-time transit status, route adjustments and schedule adherence.
