Job summary

ARCO Design/Build in Savannah, GA is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to lead field activities across the full project lifecycle. You’ll work with experienced professionals to gain exposure to preconstruction through closeout, focusing on safety, schedule integrity, and cost control.

The role emphasizes collaboration with project managers, design teams, and subcontractors, while developing leadership skills and practical construction expertise on a variety of industrial and tilt‑up projects.

Qualifications

• Recent or soon‑to‑be graduate of an accredited Civil, Mechanical, Architectural, Construction Management, Building Science, or Construction Engineering undergraduate or graduate program
• Strong interest in the construction process, design/build, tilt‑up concrete, industrial builds
• Previous experience in construction preferred but not required
• Possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in your state of residence
• GPA 3.0 or higher preferred but not required
• Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Project
• Excellent verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic

Responsibilities

• Preconstruction Planning – review project details and assist with planning before work begins
• Project Scheduling – develop construction schedules, sequencing, staffing plans, and equipment needs
• Field Leadership – oversee daily construction activities to meet safety, schedule, and budget targets
• Subcontractor Coordination – manage subcontractor activities and coordinate across trades
• Material & Equipment Management – assist with deliveries, shop drawing approvals, and submittals
• Progress & Cost Tracking – prepare progress reports, review POs and invoices
• Owner & Design Team Communication – regular updates with owners, architects, and stakeholders
• Jobsite Meetings – lead coordination meetings with PMs, regional managers, subs and team
• Documentation – maintain daily reports and site records
• Safety Leadership – promote and enforce safety program on site
• Team Collaboration – align office and field operations to deliver projects
