Job summary

Mortenson is seeking motivated interns to join our team on-site across our diverse industries, including renewables, data centers, and commercial projects. You’ll work alongside project teams, subcontractors, and partners to gain hands-on experience from day one.

Our summer internship program runs May–August 2027, with real responsibilities, growth opportunities, and a chance to contribute to meaningful projects while developing professional skills in a collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate, four-year degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Engineering or other related degree.
• Are willing to be mobile/relocate
• Possess a current driver's license and have access to reliable transportation
• Are comfortable with exposure to dirt, heat, noise, dust, and a trailer office environment

Responsibilities

• Learn from the project teams and partners on site.
• Champion Mortenson's zero injury safety requirements.
• Complete construction change orders and RFIs.
• Assist with purchase orders and subcontractor agreements.
• Support construction sequencing and schedule maintenance.
• Participate in preconstruction and pre-installation meetings.
• Assist with subcontractor coordination meetings and correspondence.
• Utilize industry-leading technology and software used in construction.
• Support preparation and evaluation of bid packages.
• Consult with subcontractors and material suppliers.
• Handle material procurement.
• Participate in architect and owner interactions.
