Job summary

Strategic Government Resources, Inc. is seeking a Capital Projects Field Operations Specialist to oversee daily on-site field observations of municipal infrastructure projects.

The role requires coordinating with project managers, contractors, designers, and stakeholders, and maintaining comprehensive daily reports. The position emphasizes QA/QC, safety compliance, and constructability reviews from design through closeout, with significant travel to project sites and strong communication skills

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and five years of related experience in the construction field
• Valid Texas Driver's License and a clean driving record
• Experience with QA/QC in construction or engineering
• Ability to read, interpret, and review complex engineering plans, construction blueprints, survey notes, and technical specifications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety certification or the ability to obtain upon hire
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Ability to learn and interpret regulations governing capital projects construction
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with contractors and others

Responsibilities

• Perform daily on-site field observations of horizontal and vertical capital projects for plans, specifications, codes and safety/environmental standards
• Monitor and track installation for water, sewer, drainage, roadways, utilities, parks, and public facilities construction projects
• Provide technical support including research, utility coordination, cost estimate review, and design/construction standard updates
• Maintain detailed documentation of field conditions, project progress, and daily reports
• Enforce quality control by identifying deficiencies or deviations and verifying remediation
• Coordinate field testing of materials and workmanship and review results for compliance
• Provide design support by reviewing drawings, submittals, and RFIs and participate in constructability reviews
• Assist with contract administration by verifying material quantities for pay apps and reviewing change orders
• Serve as primary field liaison to stakeholders and participate in meetings to resolve issues
• Perform other related duties as assigned
