Job summary

Epstein Architecture, Engineering and Construction is seeking an Assistant Site Superintendent to join our Construction team on a large project in Manteno, Illinois. The role coordinates field activities with foremen, field engineers, and subcontractors while promoting a safety‑first culture on site.

The ideal candidate has 3–6 years of site experience on large projects, a relevant bachelor's degree, and working knowledge of scheduling, field practices, and Procore/MS Project.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of site experience on large projects for a General Contractor or Construction Manager.
• Bachelor Degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural Engineering, or equivalent preferred or equal experience.
• Working knowledge of field construction: systems, practices, safety and procedures.
• Knowledge of scheduling techniques (CPM) and reading construct‑drawings.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Site Superintendent and Project Manager during construction to budget, manage, and forecast labor, equipment, materials, and general conditions.
• Maintains construction safety and administers OSHA compliance program.
• Implements site utilization plan and establishes crew sizes.
• Ensures schedules are maintained by trade subcontractors.
• Prepares field documentation and reports (monthly, weekly, daily).
• Enhances contractor and vendor relationships.
