Job summary

Epstein seeks an Assistant Site Superintendent to join our growing Construction team on a large project in Manteno, Illinois. The role focuses on coordinating field activities, safety, and coordination with design and engineering to ensure successful project delivery.

The ideal candidate has 3–6 years of site experience, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and working knowledge of scheduling, documents interpretation, and contract administration. Procore and MS Project experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • 3–6 years of site experience on large projects for a General Contractor or Construction Manager.
  • Bachelor Degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural Engineering, or equivalent preferred or equal experience.
  • Working knowledge of field construction: systems, practices, safety and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of general engineering principals and construction techniques, materials, methods, and sequencing.
  • Knowledge of basic scheduling techniques (i.e., Critical Path Method).
  • Ability to interpret construction documents.
  • Positive attitude and professional customer service skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, problem solving, initiative, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, MS Project, Procore (preferred).
  • Experience in MS Project and Procore (preferred).
  • 30 hour OSHA certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Assist Site Superintendent and Project Manager during construction phase to budget, manage, and forecast subcontractor labor, equipment, materials, small tools, consumables, and general conditions.
  • Maintain construction safety and administer OSHA compliance program.
  • Implement site utilization plan and establish crew sizes.
  • Ensure schedules are maintained by trade subcontractors.
  • Develop, update and review project schedule and 3-week look ahead, daily reports, safety checklists, and enforce insurance policies on site.
  • Maintain quality control through regular inspection of work.
  • Coordinate interface between design and field construction.
  • Prepare field documentation and reports (monthly, weekly, daily).
  • Enhance contractor and vendor relationships.

Assistant Site Superintendent Epstein is seeking an Assistant Site Superintendent to join our growing Construction team on a large project in Manteno, Illinois.

Overview

The Assistant Site Superintendent coordinates, plans and supervises project field activities with foremen, field engineers, and subcontractors. They are also responsible for promoting a culture of safety on the project site and is responsible for coordinating plans and specifications with design and engineering. Experience with diverse project types including large scale industrial projects such as warehouse/distribution, manufacturing and food processing facilities is a plus. Design-build experience is preferred, but not necessary.

General Responsibilities

  • Prepares required field documentation and reports (monthly, weekly and daily).
  • Enhances contractor and vendor relationships.
What We Are Looking For

Compensation

Individual compensation is determined by several factors, including education, experience, training, qualifications, skill sets, licensure/certifications, and location. Employees are also eligible for discretionary annual bonuses based on both company and individual performance. The salary range for this position is $80,000 – $100,000 annually.
