UrbanBuilt, a Baltimore-based general contracting company serving the Mid-Atlantic region, is seeking a proactive and organized Field Operations Coordinator to join our team.
As a general contracting company specializing in commercial and residential renovations and new construction, we are looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, coordinating people and resources, and helping keep field operations running efficiently. This position works closely with our Field Operations Manager to support manpower coordination, fleet and equipment management, safety initiatives, and day-to-day operational activities across multiple active projects.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, communicates effectively, and thrives in a fast-paced construction environment. Construction experience is preferred, but individuals with strong operational, logistics, or project coordination experience are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Calendar, Communication & Administrative Support
- Coordinate the Field Operations Manager's calendar, including meetings, project reviews, and jobsite visits
- Monitor and organize emails, prioritizing urgent matters and identifying issues requiring immediate attention
- Draft communications on behalf of the Field Operations Manager
- Coordinate meeting logistics, prepare agendas, and track action items
- Prepare reports, meeting summaries, and operational documentation
- Serve as a communication bridge between office staff, field personnel, clients, vendors, and subcontractors
Operations & Field Coordination
- Coordinate daily manpower reporting and assist with workforce planning across active projects
- Coordinate manpower changes between projects and communicate operational updates
- Track project milestones, action items, and operational priorities
- Follow up with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and clients regarding outstanding items
- Maintain the Service Log within Procore
- Maintain company tool inventory and support equipment coordination between jobsites
- Support the Field Operations Manager with day-to-day operational activities and special projects
Fleet, Equipment & Safety
- Coordinate preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs for company vehicles
- Maintain vehicle registrations, insurance documentation, and compliance records
- Track fleet maintenance history, repair costs, and vehicle assignments
- Coordinate repair vendors, estimates, and scheduling
- Coordinate monthly safety meetings
- Conduct random jobsite safety inspections
- Maintain safety equipment inventory
- Assist with accident documentation, repair coordination, and warehouse organization
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction operations, project coordination, logistics, field administration, or a related role
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to local jobsites as needed
Preferred
- Experience in the construction industry
- Experience with Procore and Microsoft Project
- Experience coordinating field operations, manpower, fleet, or equipment
- Knowledge of OSHA safety practices and construction operations
- Experience working with Project Managers, Superintendents, and subcontractors
