Job summary

Peyton Resource Group is seeking a Safety Director to protect our people, equipment, and traveling public. This hands-on role blends fieldwork and office tasks, ensuring every activity meets top safety and compliance standards.

You’ll lead programs aligned with TxDOT, OSHA, and FMCSA regulations, drive audits and trainings, investigate incidents, and manage fleet safety. The ideal candidate thrives in problem-solving and coaching others toward safer practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of safety experience in construction, traffic control, utilities, or heavy equipment industries.
• Knowledge of OSHA, TxDOT, MUTCD, FMCSA/DOT, and ANSI safety standards.
• Safety certifications preferred: OSHA 30, CPR/First Aid, CSP, CHST, or equivalent.
• Strong communication and training skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
• Ability to travel statewide to job sites and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety programs and cultivate a culture of accountability and awareness.
• Conduct jobsite audits and lead safety trainings to ensure compliance.
• Manage incident investigations and fleet safety compliance.
• Collaborate with field and office teams to shape safety systems and practices.
• Support execution of TxDOT/OSHA/FMCSA regulations in daily operations.
