Job summary

Austin Bridge & Road has an outstanding opportunity for a Field Office Manager/Project Accountant for heavy civil projects in San Antonio, Texas. The role provides overall direction and control over job site accounting and administrative support to project staff and accounting.

Responsibilities include accounts payable workflow, invoice approvals, subcontractor payments, and field payroll oversight. Strong construction accounting experience and an associate degree are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, with 2 years in construction preferred.
• Experience in accounts payable, payroll processing, subcontractor coordination, and change order management.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail under pressure.
• Excellent problem solving and analytical abilities; dependable and self-motivated.
• Effective communicator with strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates understanding of the accounts payable process and can troubleshoot payment or vendor issues.
• Ensure backup documentation is on file before approving invoices for payment.
• Monitor the invoice system to ensure timely payments to subcontractors and suppliers.
• Oversee field payroll for hourly and salaried employees; ensure proper documentation and reporting of hours.
• Review cost and cost adjustments to meet company standards and accounting rules.
• Perform a variety of administrative support tasks at project field offices; other duties as assigned.
