Job summary

Austin Bridge & Road, a unit of Austin Industries, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for projects in Austin, Texas. The role entails document control, cost tracking, scheduling, procurement, and subcontract coordination on heavy civil, bridge, and highway work.

Successful candidates will have a civil/ construction background with strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred, may be substituted with experience.
• At least 5 years of experience managing DOT projects is strongly preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills at all levels of management.
• Excellent time management and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage the document control system, including RFIs, submittals, correspondence, and meeting notes.
• Review submittals to ensure proper coordination with plans and specifications.
• Assist with startup activities on the project, working closely with the superintendent.
• Prepare and submit the monthly pay request for owners and architects.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers; evaluate schedule impacts from changes.
• Help establish and maintain job cost reporting per company policy.
