Job summary

PenTeleData in Pennsylvania seeks a Network Field Technician to install, modify and maintain core and node equipment, and support customers accessing PTD's high-speed network.

You will travel across the company's footprint, work on-call shifts, and collaborate with multiple departments to resolve complex network issues. Requires degree/experience, TCP/IP, Cisco, and strong customer service.

Qualifications

• Requires 2–4 years Electrical/CompSci/Telecom degree or related experience.
• Residency in Pennsylvania is required.
• Valid PA driver’s license with good record; Real ID or Passport for travel/entry to government buildings.
• LAN/WAN experience and TCP/IP knowledge required.
• Experience with Cisco products preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work varied hours and on-call shifts.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and travel within footprint.

Responsibilities

• Respond to core and customer issues promptly.
• Provide technical understanding for PenTeleData networks.
• Install cable and equipment at core and customer locations.
• Mentor other employees as needed.
• Coordinate with Telcos and third parties to resolve problems.
• Communicate effectively with customers for issue resolution.
• Return defective equipment for testing and repair.
• Use test equipment to test customer connections and services.
• Travel to different locations within the company footprint.
