Job summary

BOLD Business in New York, NY is seeking a Field Network Technician who combines advanced networking knowledge with hands-on field expertise. You will work on the frontline to ensure clients stay connected via Ethernet-over-Copper, Coax, or Fiber, spanning the US nationwide.

Responsibilities include on-site diagnostics, cabling repairs, CPE management, VLAN/IP/routing verification, and compliant QA with SLAs. A CCNA/CCNP baseline is preferred to demonstrate your technical foundation.

Qualifications

• Foundational network knowledge at CCNA/CCNP level with routing, switching and TCP/IP understanding.
• Solid understanding of Ethernet and fiber optic tech (GPON, Active Ethernet).
• Experience or ability to quickly learn fusion splicers, meters and network testers.
• Familiarity with enterprise hardware (Cisco, Juniper, Adtran, Ciena).
• CCNA/CCNP is preferred to demonstrate baseline knowledge.

Responsibilities

• On-Site Diagnostics & Repair using Layer 1–3 troubleshooting to resolve outages.
• Repair or replace cabling (Cat5e/6 or Fiber) and perform fiber splicing with verification.
• Install, re-configure and troubleshoot CPE including routers, NIDs and ONT.
• Coordinate with NOC to verify VLAN tagging, IP assignments and routing.
• Inside wiring in server rooms and closets to optimize equipment placement.
• Run speed tests and latency benchmarks to meet SLAs.
