Job summary

Kinetic, a business unit of Uniti, is seeking an Outside Plant Engineer to connect customers to our fiber, copper, and related telecommunications products. This role supports field and office activities and helps build long-term relationships with business and residential customers.

The position can be based in Hastings or Lincoln, NE, and involves about 70% fieldwork and 30% office work, with up to 25% overnight travel.

Qualifications

• College degree in Engineering or a related field and 2-4 years professional level experience; or 6+ years professional level related Engineering/Technical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related Engineering/Technical experience required.
• Ability to travel overnight up to 25% of the time.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work independently or in teams.
• Experience with outside plant design concepts and project coordination is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and field data analysis is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engineer/design outside plant facilities including fiber and copper.
• Assist in planning, analysis, design and engineering of outside plant network structures.
• Organize complex activities for development, construction, implementation and maintenance of projects.
• Communicate clearly to maintain positive working relationships and drive projects to completion.
• Engineer/Design projects for cost-effective use of materials and labor.
• Perform administrative work related to projects and assignments.
• Conduct fieldwork and analysis to solve complex problems.
