Job summary

Highline Services, LLC seeks a Field Network Engineer – Deployment/Operations to manage deployment and operation of the regional FTTH network, including IP/MPLS, XGS PON, and outdoor cabinets in Colorado City.

Responsibilities include design, deployment, troubleshooting, documentation, and collaboration with install teams; requires 4-5 years in network design/testing, plus knowledge of PON, IP/MPLS, xWDM and related protocols.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years’ experience in network design, installation, testing, and maintenance.
• Working knowledge of PON, Transport, IP/MPLS, and xWDM technologies.
• Basic knowledge of protection schemes and switching (G.8032, STP, MPLS).
• Understanding of networking architectures, standards and protocols including Layer 0-2 standards, VLANs, LACP, OAM, etc.
• Good understanding of layer 3-4 protocols (TCP/UDP, MPLS, OSPF, BGP, VRRP).
• NetDevOps skill set a plus – Ansible, Python; interest in automation.

Responsibilities

• Performs engineering deployment and operational support for PON and Ethernet transport services.
• Troubleshoots IP Network systems, equipment, and facilities including LAN/WAN, routers, servers, and switches.
• Supports end-user provisioning of high-speed internet services.
• Prepares work orders, MOPs, and specifications for equipment and software upgrades.
• Maintains accurate documentation of equipment, systems, and facilities.
• Participates in short/long-range planning and capacity projections.
