Job summary

FIT Staffing seeks a hands-on Network Deployment Specialist for a Massachusetts-based project, starting with a contract in Northampton/Springfield area. The role is field-oriented, with frequent travel across the state and a focus on deploying modern network infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will replace SonicWall gear with a standardized Ubiquiti UniFi stack, document configurations, and coordinate with the internal IT team to minimize downtime and ensure compliance with SOPs.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (switching, routing, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, troubleshooting).
• Hands-on experience deploying or upgrading network infrastructure in multi-site or field environments.
• Ability to document site conditions, configurations, and deployment requirements clearly.
• Excellent communication with technical teams and field personnel.

Responsibilities

• Travel to locations throughout Massachusetts to assess existing network infrastructure and identify upgrade requirements.
• Document equipment, site conditions, network needs, and deployment requirements.
• Determine equipment needs and assist with ordering hardware for deployments.
• Stage, configure, and prepare network equipment prior to installation.
• Replace aging SonicWall infrastructure with a standardized Ubiquiti UniFi environment.
• Deploy and install gateways/firewalls, switches, wireless access points, and related hardware.
• Perform configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and post-installation validation.
• Coordinate deployments with internal IT staff and site personnel to minimize disruption.
• Maintain records of installed equipment, configurations, and completed work.
• Escalate issues to internal IT team as needed.
