Job summary

S&ME is seeking a dedicated NDT/NDE Technician to join the Metals team in Wilmington, NC. You will visually inspect structural steel, perform UT MT tests as needed, and work in field settings at heights over 200 feet with fall protection.

The role involves heavy field activity, reporting findings, and contributing to project success across diverse sites. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of NDT/NDE metals testing experience or an Associate degree, plus relevant certifications such

Qualifications

• Two years minimum NDT/NDE metals testing experience or an Associate's degree in a closely related field.
• Active industry certifications: AWS CWI (or working towards), AMPP Coating Inspector Level I/II, ASNT Level II per ASNT-SNT-TC-1A in at least one method.

Responsibilities

• Inspect structural steel and perform non-destructive testing (UT on welds, MT when applicable).
• Juggle testing assignments across projects and maintain testing equipment and calibration.
• Create detailed reports communicating findings and participate in quality systems audits.
