Job summary

EPB seeks an Engineering Technician to provide technical support for revenue metering facilities across projects and processes. The role emphasizes field inspections, equipment installation, testing, and adherence to metering standards.

Strong customer service, safety awareness, and ability to work flexibly are required. Responsibilities include inspecting and maintaining meters and related systems, performing field service work orders, and supporting outage/restoration efforts.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a two-year accredited Associate of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (ASEE).
• Mechanical aptitude, decision-making, oral and written communication skills to facilitate excellent customer service, flexibility, and team working skills are required.
• Knowledge of basic office tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; must become proficient in applications such as Microsoft Outlook, EnQuesta, GT Viewer, Mobile and related operations applications.
• Working knowledge of meters, instruments, and electrical testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve customer electric service complaints using meters and testing equipment.
• Perform scheduled field inspections and testing of instrument-rated metering equipment; coordinate repairs as needed.
• Install, replace, repair, and maintain meters and related metering equipment on de-energized circuits and circuits up to 600 volts.
• Complete Field Service work orders including various tasks and investigations.
• Conduct storm restoration Scout/Bird Dog duties.
• Maintain meter shop duties: testing, communications testing, RMA meters, IPCs, and database entry.
• Adhere to EPB metering standards and safety rules; manage shop inventory and restocking materials.
