Job summary

Entergy Mississippi, LLC is seeking a skilled metering technician to install, maintain, and test instrument transformer rated meters. You will provide technical support for metering functions, train field staff, and help optimize meter value across primary and substation projects.

Responsibilities include testing system tie points, operating meter software, and developing metering schemes, with travel up to 25%. Safety and documentation duties are emphasized in this role.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of electronics.
• 3+ years utility field experience preferred.
• Must have a good safety record and possess a safe attitude.
• Must have competent computer skills.
• Must have competent Mathematics and Trigonometry skills.
• Knowledge of basic electric circuit analysis, vector I phase or relationship.
• Knowledge of meter terminology is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Test, verify and troubleshoot all System tie points.
• Operate packaged meter and recorder software applications.
• Develop metering schemes/specs for primary/substation jobs that optimize meter value.
• Program/troubleshoot high-end meters for special needs.
• Distribution Line outage restoration, such as scouting and refusing.
• Troubleshoot communications of remote metering.
