Job summary

FirstEnergy's Potomac Edison is seeking a Meter Technician to install, remove, test, and repair meters and related equipment. You will inspect systems, ensure proper layouts, and maintain metering indoors or outdoors in all weather while following safety rules.

The role requires neat wiring diagrams, calibration checks, and clear documentation. You will analyze test results, support emergency operations, and provide excellent customer service to our electrical customers.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform physical work indoors and outdoors in all seasons.
• Must meet physical requirements and be able to work safely from heights, ladders and aerial baskets.

Responsibilities

• Installs, removes, replaces, inspects, tests, maintains, and repairs electrical meters, instruments, and related equipment; directs others as qualified.
• Promotes safety practices and participates in safety programs.
• Calibrates or checks calibration of meters and instruments; conducts standard operating tests on new equipment.
• Analyzes test results and makes necessary recommendations; prepares wiring diagrams for metering and control installations.
• Assist during emergencies and travel to various locations as needed.
