Job summary

Black Hills Energy is seeking a Field Measurement Technician in Colorado to perform installation, removal, adjustment, repair and maintenance of meters, regulators and related instrumentation in coordination with Gas Tech Services.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least one year of meter testing experience. You will travel up to 10% and may respond to emergencies; a valid driver's license is required. Competitive pay and company benefits apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience inspecting/testing large volume meters, regulators and instruments.
• Solid understanding of mainframe environment and PC software is helpful.
• Strong communication and cooperation with coworkers.
• Writing skills vital to prepare accurate paperwork.
• Analytical and reasoning abilities.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Highly organized and flexible.
• Valid driver's license and driving record meeting standards.
• Travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Test and calibrate large volume meters, gauges, and instruments.
• Conduct annual Town Border Station inspections.
• Conduct annual District Regulator Stations inspections.
• Witness testing of metering stations.
• Size meters, relief valves and regulators for all applications.
• Install or troubleshoot telemetry with support from field operations.
• Install and troubleshoot SCADA equipment with guidance from Gas Control.
• Respond to company emergencies as needed.
