Job summary

Black Hills Energy is hiring a Gas Operations Technician to perform distribution system maintenance, leak surveys and odorization in Castle Rock, Colorado. You will work under the Gas Operations Supervisor, ensuring safe and compliant operations of the gas distribution network.

The role requires a high school diploma and relevant field experience. Level I–Senior levels are available with incremental responsibility and pay. Comprehensive benefits are available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of natural gas, construction or related experience for Level II; 4+ years for Senior level.
• Knowledge of gas operating safety procedures and utility standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide material recommendations to meet load and pressure requirements.
• Locate underground facilities accurately and perform leak surveys.
• Install and maintain gas facilities per specifications and safety rules.
• Perform CP checks, odorization, testing, and field maintenance tasks.
