Xcel Energy Inc. is seeking a Consolidated Collector – Reader at the Marshall Operations Center in Minneapolis, MN. The role covers meter reading and credit collection with traditional or van-based readings, primarily in the field and with strong customer interaction.

The position is full-time with benefits, requires a valid driver’s license and safety focus, and offers an hourly starting wage of $29.59. Work hours are during normal business days, with possible after-hours or weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to read and follow maps.
• Able to walk extended distances through various terrain.
• Willingness to participate in after-hour emergency callouts.
• Commitment to safety and company rules.

Responsibilities

• Read electric and gas meters and enter readings into handheld device.
• Perform traditional or van-based meter readings.
• Disconn/Reconn electric or gas services for delinquent accounts.
• Identify meter locations, readings, and billing rates.
• Inform customers about inability-to-pay protections during cold months.
• Work 80% in the field and interact with customers.
• Coordinate with field technicians to ensure safe service delivery.
