Job summary

FirstEnergy is seeking a Meter Reader in Parkersburg, WV to read meters at customer sites, report anomalies, and support storm restoration efforts. You will drive a personal 4WD or AWD vehicle, maintain safety standards, and provide accurate readings while delivering courteous service.

Require residency within 40 minutes of the service center, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver's license with a clean record. Previous meter reading experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must live within 40 minutes of the reporting service center.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Meter reading experience is preferred.
• Must drive an all-wheel or four-wheel drive vehicle (mileage reimbursement).
• Able to safely drive and walk in all weather and terrains.
• Ability to interact effectively with customers.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Reading meters installed at customer premises and reporting irregularities.
• Performing collection activities when assigned.
• Performing single phase reconnects, disconnects and meter exchanges when assigned.
• Contributing to storm restoration efforts as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
