Job summary

UNFI in Pittsburgh, PA seeks a Retail Merchandising Representative to oversee merchandising projects territory-wide, coordinating UNFI Shelf Services staff, vendors, brokers, and third‑party merchandisers to ensure timely execution of new store setups, full resets, remodels, and in‑store programs.

The role also serves as a sales consultant, promoting UNFI products and Professional Services in-store, with up to 95% travel and a strong focus on customer relations and sales growth.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License is necessary.
• Auto Insurance levels that meet UNFI requirements.

Responsibilities

• Interact face to face with retailers to determine reset projects and create daily project plans.
• Supervise and instruct 3rd Party and Retail Merchandising staff in planograms implementation and training.
• Lead project teams and partners to maximize profitability; monitor territory P&L performance.
• Conduct regular retailer visits to evaluate program effectiveness and influence assortment decisions.
• Independently resolve conflicts between retail, regional teams, UNFI, and vendor/broker partners.
• Serve as the primary contact for customers and merchandising projects; maintain business relations with customers and UNFI stakeholders.
• Communicate with UNFI Sales Leaders about competitor activity, sales opportunities, and customer requests.
• Seize opportunities to increase sales through merchandising techniques and promote promotions.
• Exercise discretion in project planning and selling Professional Services; assist with presentations.
• Complete required documentation accurately and stay current on Shelf Services tools.
