What You’ll Be Doing

As a Cardiovascular Utilization Management Reviewer (Interventional Cardiologist), you will leverage your expertise in interventional cardiology to review cases, ensure high-value care, and collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes in a non-clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert reviews for invasive/interventional cardiology cases, including procedures like cardiac catheterizations, coronary interventions, and device implantations.
  • Conduct peer-to-peer discussions with treating providers to ensure appropriate, evidence-based care.
  • Collaborate with leadership and clinical staff on complex cases and decision-making.
  • Guide Initial Clinical Reviewers and provide clinical rationale for appeals.
  • Discuss case determinations with physicians within regulatory timeframes.
  • Utilize clinical guidelines and standards to ensure consistent, compliant reviews.
  • Document communications accurately and timely.
  • Participate in ongoing training and quality assurance processes.
  • Assist in research activities related to utilization management.
  • Potentially serve as Medical Director for specific regions or health plans, overseeing utilization management.
Qualifications
  • MD/DO/MBBS degree with current, unrestricted license.
  • Board certification in Interventional Cardiology, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five years of cardiology practice preferred.
  • Strong clinical, management, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computers and clinical review tools.
  • No current exclusions or sanctions by health programs or legal actions.
Technical Requirements

High-speed internet (>10 Mbps) and direct connection to home router are required. These requirements may change with office reopenings.

Compensation ranges from $120 to $135 per hour, with bonus potential based on performance. Benefits include comprehensive health coverage. Salary is commensurate with experience.
