Cardiovascular Utilization Management Reviewer (Interventional Cardiologist)

Use your interventional cardiology expertise in a non-clinical setting to review cases, ensure high-value care, and contribute to better health outcomes. Enjoy a collaborative environment, continuous learning, and peer discussions.

What You’ll Do

• Review cardiovascular cases, such as cardiac catheterizations, interventions, and device implantations, to assess medical necessity.
• Engage in peer-to-peer discussions with providers to ensure appropriate, evidence-based care.
• Collaborate with leadership and clinical teams on complex cases and decision-making.
• Guide Initial Clinical Reviewers and support appeals with clinical rationale.
• Discuss determinations with providers within regulatory timeframes.
• Apply medical review guidelines to ensure compliance with policies and accreditation standards.
• Document all communications accurately and timely.
• Participate in ongoing training and quality assurance activities.
• Assist in research and system support activities as needed.
• Potentially serve as Medical Director for specific regions or health plans, overseeing utilization management.

Qualifications

• MD/DO/MBBS with current, unrestricted license.
• Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology or equivalent qualifications.
• At least 5 years of clinical cardiology practice preferred.
• Strong clinical, management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in computer systems.
• No current exclusions or sanctions from healthcare programs or agencies.

Technical Requirements

High-speed internet (>10 Mbps) and direct connection to home router required. These requirements may change with office reopenings.
