Comfort Systems USA, Inc. is seeking a skilled Mechanic to support mechanical service and retrofit work on active job sites, rooftops, and mechanical rooms in Pooler, GA.

You will perform sheet metal modifications, piping tasks, gasket changes, and valve work, while maintaining safety standards and documenting progress. You’ll follow job specs, torque requirements, and use torque wrenches and hand tools to ensure high-quality results.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated hands-on experience in mechanical service, piping, HVAC, plumbing, or industrial maintenance.
• Working knowledge of flanges, gaskets, valves, and mechanical connections.
• Proper tool use including torque tools and adherence to safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform sheet metal modification and installation to support equipment interfaces.
• Remove and replace pipe gaskets; prepare flange faces and verify fit-up.
• Complete valve replacements and perform operational checks per requirements.
• Install flanged pipe couplings and torque to specification with proper tools.
• Execute LOTO procedures and verify zero-energy state.
• Read job documentation and complete tasks accurately on first pass.
• Maintain clean, safe work area; use PPE and follow site rules.
• Communicate status, material needs, and issues to supervisor; document work.
• Use torque wrenches and standard tools correctly; support troubleshooting.
