Job summary

Comfort Systems USA, Inc. is seeking a proficient Mechanic to support mechanical service and retrofit work on industrial projects. You will perform sheet metal modifications, piping tasks, valve and gasket work, and ensure strict LOTO procedures on active job sites and rooftops.

You will read drawings and specs, use torque wrenches and hand tools, and collaborate with supervisors to maintain safety and quality. Travel to construction sites as needed is required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in mechanical service, piping, HVAC, or industrial maintenance.
• Ability to read drawings and job documentation and follow instructions.
• Commitment to jobsite safety and hazard awareness.

Responsibilities

• Perform sheet metal modification and installation to support equipment and duct interfaces.
• Remove and replace pipe gaskets; prepare flange faces and verify fit-up.
• Complete chiller valve replacements and perform operational checks.
• Install flanged pipe couplings; torque to specification with proper tools.
• Execute Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and maintain zero-energy state.
• Read job drawings and specs to complete tasks correctly the first time.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and use PPE as required.
• Communicate status and material needs to supervisor; document work done.
• Use torque wrenches and standard mechanical tools; assist with troubleshooting.
