Job summary

Comfort Systems USA, Inc. is seeking a Mechanic to support mechanical service and retrofit work. The role involves sheet metal modifications, piping tasks, valve replacements, flanged coupling installation, and strict Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) execution on active job sites.

The candidate will read job documents, follow torque requirements, and maintain a clean, safe work area while communicating status and material needs to the supervisor. Travel to construction sites is required as needed.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in mechanical service, piping, HVAC, plumbing, or industrial maintenance.
• Knowledge of flanges, gaskets, valves, and mechanical connections.
• Ability to travel to construction sites as needed.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform sheet metal modification and installation to support mechanical equipment and ducting interfaces.
• Remove and replace pipe gaskets; prepare flange faces and verify fit-up.
• Complete chiller valve replacements and post-install checks.
• Install flanged pipe couplings; torque to specification with proper tools.
• Execute lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and verify zero-energy state.
• Read job documents and work to complete tasks correctly the first time.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all safety policies.
• Communicate status and material needs to supervisor; document work performed.
• Use torque wrenches and standard hand/power tools properly.
• Support troubleshooting and basic mechanical tasks, escalating issues when needed.
