Job summary

Plains in the United States is seeking a Junior Mechanical Technician to perform scheduled and unscheduled mechanical maintenance on pumps, valves, engines, and tank mixers. This field-based role works in open environments with extreme temperatures, requiring strict safety adherence.

You will perform preventive maintenance, service equipment, and assist with inspections, record-keeping in CMMS, and adherence to company safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Currently in or recently completed first year of related trades apprenticeship.
• English literacy and basic math skills.
• Ability to read facility drawings and manuals.
• Strong teamwork and communication.
• Willingness to work outdoors in extreme heat/cold.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on pumps, valves, motors and piping.
• Lubricate and service mechanical equipment.
• Conduct safety inspections and lockouts.
• Maintain equipment records in CMMS (Maximo).
• Assist with repairs and alignments.
• Follow Plains safety procedures.
