Job summary

Altium Packaging is seeking a Mechanical Support Technician to lead emergency response across U.S. and Canada plastics plants. You will stabilize operations, drive corrective actions, and lead on-site technical teams during outages or start-up challenges.

Required is 6–10 years in high-output plastics, with 5–10 years in maintenance/production roles. Travel up to 100% and hands-on leadership on the plant floor are essential to success.

Qualifications

• 6-10 years' experience in a high-output plastics manufacturing environment.
• 5-10 years of hands-on experience in maintenance and/or production technical roles.
• Proven expertise in troubleshooting blow molding systems and downstream bottle processing equipment.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% and work extended hours during critical recovery periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate on the plant floor.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a first responder for critical operational events across US/Canada plants.
• Deploy to any U.S. or Canada plant on short notice to stabilize operations.
• Lead on-site technical leadership during escalations with Plant Managers and Maintenance Leaders.
• Drive structured root cause analysis; implement and sustain corrective actions.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership across maintenance and production systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and controls issues on the plant floor.
• Support and execute corrective actions alongside plant teams; perform major PM/overhauls.
• Deliver on-floor training and contribute to continuous improvement and loss elimination.
