Job summary

Altium Packaging seeks a Mechanical Support Technician to lead urgent-response maintenance and optimization across U.S. and Canada plants. You will stabilize operations, guide on-site teams, and drive immediate corrective actions during critical outages and startup challenges.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years’ experience in a high-output plastics manufacturing environment, with strong exposure to bottle processing operations.
• 5–10 years of hands-on experience in maintenance and/or production technical roles.
• Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting blow molding systems and downstream bottle processing equipment.
• Willingness and capability to travel up to 100% and work extended hours during critical recovery periods.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Serve as a first responder for critical operational events and stabilize operations.
• Deploy to U.S. or Canada plants on short notice to assess conditions and act quickly.
• Lead on-site technical leadership during escalation events with plant managers.
• Perform root cause analysis and ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership across maintenance and production systems.
• Conduct major PM/Overhaul work and operate Blow Mold lines during emergencies.
• Build technical capability through floor-based training of operators and technicians.
• Identify recurring issues and drive standard work to prevent recurrence.
• Document root causes and lessons learned from each deployment.
