Job summary

NAVOCEANO in Bay St Louis, MS seeks a Mechanical Engineer to support systems engineering in the oceanographic mission domain. You will provide field support, participate in ship availabilities and testing, and contribute to documentation for system operation and maintenance.

As a project engineer, you will help manage complex engineering projects, collect data, analyze failures, and assist with interfacing and testing of unmanned instrumentation systems used in hydrographic surveys.

Qualifications

• Experience applying mechanical engineering principles to analysis, design, fabrication, modification/reconfiguration, testing and installation of complex mechanical systems.
• Experience leading teams and executing products in support of mission systems.
• Experience supporting mechanical systems on Navy vessels using mechanical engineering principles.
• Experience identifying technical requirements and planning/scheduling resources to meet project objectives.

Responsibilities

• Provide field support for operational requirements of oceanographic/hydrographic/acoustic survey systems.
• Attend and assist at ship availabilities and testing periods.
• Assist with the development and review of technical documentation to support system operation and maintenance.
• Serve as a project engineer assisting managing complex engineering projects.
• Collect data, analyze and record timely corrective action for system failures.
• Assist designing, interfacing, and testing complex oceanographic, hydrographic and unmanned instrumentation systems.
